So you have written a book, or formed a new company, or want to revamp your identity/brand as an author…fantastic! Congratulations on writing your masterpiece. No doubt it took you several laborious months (or even years) to write, edit and edit again until now you are ready to share your literature with the world. So what now? You need some professional help if you want your book to look its best, right?
What a brilliant opportunity!
I was approached by authors Helen Hollick and Joanna Courtney about a new project they were working on – an eBook collection of short stories from several talented and award winning authors. The 950th Anniversary of the Battle of Hastings is this calendar year, so the authors have come together to celebrate by writing nine stories of alternative history. What if Harold had won the battle? So many options for the writers to play with and what an exciting project! I was honored to be asked to design the cover for such a prestigious group. The official blog for the project is HERE and you can find the page on Facebook HERE. Continue reading
Most importantly, I must have a good mash up playing while I design. Currently my playlist includes a newly discovered artist from Nashville, Tennessee – Ruelle. She’s fabulous. I am also addicted to Adele‘s latest album, so many of those tracks are on my playlist as well. My playlist changes as I discover new artists and/or songs and as I get nostalgic for older tracks in my collection. Most of the time the songs lift my mood or place my mind in the right comfort zone in order to let my creative juices flow.
Head’s up! Avalon Graphics is moving!
Greetings Visitors and Friends. During a particularly busy time here at Avalon Graphics, I have suffered a computer failure and thus I am forced to close down production on all work until I can resolve the issue or replace my design computer. Hopefully I’ll be back up to speed within a week, and I apologize for any lag in email responses in the meantime. For those of you whom I’m either currently working with or scheduled to begin working with shortly, I will remain in touch and do my best to keep to promised deadlines.
Thank you for your patience during this difficult time.
